Oral Pathology

Oral pathology is the study and diagnosis of diseases that affect the mouth, jaw, and related structures. These conditions can result from a variety of causes, including biological factors, chemical or physical agents, hormonal imbalances, or developmental abnormalities.

Abnormal tissue changes in the mouth, face, or neck are referred to as lesions, and their appearance can provide important clues about underlying conditions. Lesions may be benign (noncancerous) or malignant (cancerous), and early detection is key to effective treatment.

Our oral surgeons perform comprehensive head and neck examinations, including a thorough evaluation of the oral cavity. If any suspicious tissue is identified, a biopsy may be recommended to determine the exact nature of the lesion and guide appropriate care.
